Tramp oil
removal equipment

Remove tramp oil from your coolant and keep usable fluid in service. Compare T.O.S.S. tramp oil separators, from compact T1 configurations to larger models for machine sumps, reservoirs, and compatible parts-washer fluids.

01 / Standard and larger models

T.O.S.S.
Tramp oil separators sized for your reservoir

T.O.S.S. models can serve as dedicated tramp oil separators at machine sumps, parts washers, larger reservoirs, or coolant pits. The seven standard models cover treatment-loop rates from 2 to 50 GPM, alongside the larger, skid-mounted T.O.S.S. 150 configuration.

For standard models MT2 through 50, configure the supply pump for air or electric operation, select the skimmer for reservoir access, and match the solids-filtration arrangement to the application. Options include a pre-filter, V-bottom, casters, and extra leg length.

Standard sizes and larger reservoir configurations

Comparing sizes: flow is the separator’s treatment-loop rate. Tank capacity is the separator’s working fluid volume, not the size of the reservoir it can treat.

T.O.S.S. T1
Portable tramp oil separators for machine sumps

The T1 is a portable tramp oil separator for individual coolant sumps and parts washers. Every T1 configuration combines a 2 GPM air-operated pump, solids filtration, coalescing media, and gravity return in a compact unit.

Choose the pickup for your reservoir, then a cart or high-temperature build where needed. One T1 treats one reservoir at a time; cart-equipped models can move between sumps on a planned rotation.

Cart-equipped configurations

One separator. A planned route between sumps.

The T1-AVC and T1-ABC include a cart for moving between reservoirs. Treat each sump in turn, allowing enough operating time before moving the separator to the next location.

Working around your operation

Choose a portable or
dedicated separator

  1. Move between sumps

Cart-equipped T1 configurations and standard T.O.S.S. separators with optional casters can move between sumps as portable units. Treat each reservoir individually before moving the separator to the next location.

  2. Dedicated tramp oil separators

For continuous tramp oil removal at one machine sump, parts washer, or larger reservoir, keep a dedicated separator in place. It removes oil and returns clarified fluid to the same reservoir.

  3. Match the required treatment rate

Standard models provide a wider flow range. Oil loading, fluid behavior, reservoir volume, and available operating time also determine the size and configuration.

The separation process

How coalescing separators
remove tramp oil

T.O.S.S. coolant coalescers combine surface pickup, solids filtration, and oil separation. They remove free-floating, mechanically dispersed, and loosely emulsified tramp oil while returning clarified fluid to the reservoir.

  1. 01

    Collect oil-rich fluid

The coolant oil skimmer draws fluid into the separator through the supply pump.

  2. 02

    Filter suspended solids

The filter captures solids before the fluid enters the coalescing section.

  3. 03

    Bring oil droplets together

Coalescing media combines small, separable droplets so they rise for removal.

  4. 04

    Return clarified fluid

Clarified coolant returns by gravity; the separated oil drains through its own outlet.
